Happy International Women’s Day 2026

Imagine a world where “difference” isn’t a barrier, but a celebration. A world stripped of the biases and stereotypes that have historically quieted women’s voices. This isn’t just a utopian dream – it is the driving vision behind International Women’s Day (IWD) 2026!

On March 8, we aren’t just marking a date on the calendar; we are honouring a movement that has been the heartbeat of gender advocacy for over a century. At Manning Global, we believe that true progress is a collective journey, fuelled by the diverse voices of our global community!

A Legacy That Belongs to Everyone

Since its inception in 1911, IWD has never been the property of a single organisation, government, or charity. As the legendary Gloria Steinem once noted, the struggle for equality belongs to the collective efforts of everyone who cares about human rights.

In 2026, we hit an extraordinary milestone: 115 years of collective action. From the suffragettes of the early 1900s to the digital activists of today, each generation has handed the torch to the next. When you participate in IWD, you are stepping into a long, proud lineage of change-makers.

“I’m particularly proud of embracing self-leadership – having the courage to take responsibility for my path and realising that meaningful growth starts beyond the comfort zone. To the next generation of women leaders: don’t wait to feel ready. Take up space!” Eleonora Massetti, Copywriter

Marking the Calendar: IWD 2026

While Sunday, March 8 is the official global date, the spirit of IWD cannot be contained in 24 hours.

  • The Early Wave: Because the big day falls on a Sunday this year, many workplaces (including our teams at Manning Global) and community groups are hosting their primary events on Friday, March 6.

  • A Season of Action: Whether you celebrate before, on, or after the 8th, the validity of your contribution remains the same. What matters is the impact, not the timestamp.

Why We Can’t Afford Complacency

You might wonder: In 2026, do we still need a dedicated day for this? The data provides a sobering answer. According to the World Economic Forum, at our current rate of progress, none of us – and likely not even our children – will see true gender parity in our lifetimes. We are looking at a gap of roughly five generations.

Five generations is too long to wait. This is why we wear the colours of the movement: Purple for justice, Green for hope, and White for the enduring spirit of sisterhood.

“Leadership is not about becoming stronger than others, it’s about staying true to your strength when the world tells you to change it… Never trade your authenticity for acceptance; the right rooms will rise to meet you.” – Maryann Manasseh, Employee Engagement Expert

From Boardrooms to Living Rooms: The Human Angle

The “human angle” of IWD is found in the daily courage to be oneself in environments that haven’t always been welcoming. It’s about the shift from conforming to transforming.

Israa Shaheen, Etiquette & Protocol Expert, notes: “Own your presence. The real shift happens when women stop trying to mirror [masculine] models and begin leading with their own presence, intuition, emotional intelligence, and grace.”

This sentiment is echoed by Jasmine Navarro, Certified Family and Educational Well-being Expert, who emphasises the internal work of leadership: “Having the courage to listen to your own voice, even when others may not agree, is essential… meaningful change often begins with trusting what you believe is right.”

The Power of Daily Consistency

At Manning Global, we see firsthand how gender equality is a shared responsibility that requires daily effort rather than a once-a-year post.

  • Shubham Agrawal, Assistant Finance Manager, highlights the importance of allyship: “Gender equality is a shared responsibility across all levels. I mentor young women from South Asia… for me, this is my contribution to the community.”

  • Tanya Verma, Marketing & Power BI Specialist, reminds us that the journey is a marathon: “I’ve learned that consistency beats perfection – showing up every day opens doors I never imagined.”

  • Samriti Suhag, Talent Support, adds: “Relationships require understanding, not just communication. Growth happens when we stay committed and open to learning.”

More Than a Celebration: A Call to Action

It is easy to view IWD as a day for floral tributes, but its roots are radical. The goals remain urgent: Visibility for wins often unrecorded, Awareness of persistent pay gaps, and Solidarity across all genders.

As Priyanka Rastogi, Senior Business Manager, puts it: “When a workplace gives space for your ideas and ambitions to thrive, everyone gains: stronger teams, better decisions, and a workplace where shared respect turns into shared progress.”

“A key piece of advice for the next generation of women leaders: Please just do it! Whatever it is you see in your head, feel called to do, just DO IT, please. Oh, and try to enjoy it too.” – Cherie Jones, Dating Concierge

How Will You Show Up?

IWD is a movement of “all.” It is powered by the small conversations in our homes and the massive shifts in our boardrooms. Whether you are fundraising, mentoring, or educating yourself, your contribution is valid.

Together, we can forge a gender-equal world. Are you ready for #IWD2026?
