MG Meets Davor Molnar, Talent Acquisition Manager

Work, rest and play, our Talent Acquisition Manager – Davor Molnar – knows the way! From landing his dream job in recruitment, to weekend walks with his family in the beautiful town of Samobor, Croatia; here’s Davor’s career journey so far…

Firstly, how are you feeling? You’ve been working remotely for a while now – do you prefer it?

I’m feeling great! Going fully remote has changed a lot of things for me: I’m more productive and enjoy waking up, turning on my laptop and starting work! Being in daily contact with my work colleagues really helps with all of the above.

Did you choose recruitment as a career… or did it choose you?

Well, I’ve always loved having everyday interaction with a good number of individuals, so this is the perfect role for me! Indeed, as a Talent Acquisition Manager, my day-to-day routine involves liaising with clients and sourcing candidates for them. This requires you to learn new skills every day.

What makes you smile about your role?

Meeting people for the first time; I love that feeling of helping someone to change his/her life for the better! I wasn’t in recruitment before Manning Global, but I can say it was a great decision and still like what I’m doing very much.

What qualities do you need to succeed at Manning Global?

I believe that the most important qualities are patience and flexibility. Our tasks and demands are changing from day to day and you have to be flexible about adapting yourself to every new situation. Sometimes it’s easy, and other times it can present a big challenge to overcome.

What was your first job and what key skills did you learn from this role?

You could say I was an early starter! My first job was working in my parent’s grocery shop when I was 11 years old. From cleaning the shop, putting groceries on shelves and helping the customers with their needs – I really learnt a great deal. Indeed, my parents are the perfect example of how you should cope with everyday situations. They taught me from an early age the importance of enjoying life to the max – something I’m forever grateful for!

Speaking of happiness… What’s your favourite career achievement so far?

Definitely securing the role of Talent Acquisition Manager at Manning Global.

If you could listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Sing it Back by Roisin Murphy!

What are your hobbies outside of work?

Playing with my daughter Matilda (I know all popular games in the park!), plus long walks during weekends.

Finally, what is your life motto?

Life is short, so make the best of it every single day!
