Zuni also reveals her career goals for 2024, plus offers some essential advice for achieving the perfect work-life balance!

Hi Zuni! Firstly, how are you feeling? What’s it like to be working remotely?

I’m feeling great, thanks! I love working remotely. My routine is pretty hectic as I take care of my 2-year-old daughter, however the option to work from home – and the flexibility that brings – has definitely improved my productivity.

In which environment do you feel most productive/comfortable to work?

Firstly, I cannot work in complete silence. Secondly, I have my office space set up in my living room so I can be in control of things and have a clear view of everything from my desk!

How long have you worked for Manning Global?

I will be celebrating my four year ‘Manniversary’ in June! 🎉

Congratulations! How did you hear about Manning Global?

My husband recommended that I get in touch, so I applied on LinkedIn and the rest is history!

What does your role at Manning Global mostly entail?

I’m proud to say that I’ve transitioned from a more administrative support role to become a fully-fledged Talent Acquisition Manager. I love that I get to interact with our candidates and help them find their dream job.

What is the best thing about your job at Manning Global?

Flexibility (see above) and the camaraderie among work colleagues! We have a great team and I’m happy to be part of it.

What motivates you to succeed?

My family, especially my daughter.

What is your advice to someone considering a career with Manning Global?

Go for it! If you’re outgoing and resourceful then recruitment is the right sector for you.

What was your dream job as a child?

Simultaneous Translation at the UN. I wanted to learn as many languages as possible and be able to help people to communicate!

What was your first job?

When I was 14 I started as an animator for children’s parties.

Who do you look up to the most? (Both on a personal and professional level)

Personally, my mother is the strongest person I know. Professionally, Dame Anna Wintour [Editor-in-Chief of Vogue].

Did you have a childhood nickname?

Yes… Daya!

What’s your proudest professional accomplishment?

Actually, I have two! One is being able to simultaneously translate in the US Embassy Courthouse in Colombia and the second is traveling to over 20 countries while working on cruise ships.

If you could listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Numb by Linkin Park. Such a great song!

What are your hobbies outside of work?

I have a passion for gardening and also love to dance, especially with my daughter. Oh, and in case you haven’t already gathered, I also like to travel!

What was the best piece of advice you were ever given?

“The success of money is doing what you love.”

What are your professional goals for Q3-Q4 2024?

To be as hardworking and professional as I can be in my role as Talent Acquisition Manager for Manning Global. Oh, and I would also like to continue – time permitting – studying for a certificate. However, the past two years have also taught me not to make so many plans as you never know what may happen!
