Love to connect with new people? ✅ Comfortable in a remote working environment? ✅ Offers the perfect opportunity for candidates in Telecoms and IT? ✅ In this brand new feature, Manning Global’s Talent Acquisition Manager Ashwini Chawan shares her valuable tips on how to create the best environment for productive work, plus offers some great advice for professionals who are looking to start a career in recruitment…

Firstly, how are you feeling? What’s it like to be working remotely – how has your routine/work changed?

I feel fantastic, thanks! I really enjoy the flexibility that working from home allows – it’s a completely distraction-free environment. It also helps me to stay on task and complete my work on time. Remote working also offers a great work-life balance, meaning I have more time to do my job to the best of my ability. Plus, I’m also able to spend more time with my family as commuting is taken out of the equation.

In which working environment do you feel most productive?

My perfect – and most productive – working environment is flexible and allows for adequate work-life balance, as I mentioned above. I am enjoying this in Manning Global. Here I have the flexibility to complete my work and focus on new tasks. It also helps that my work colleagues are very approachable.

… And your top tip for someone who wants to pursue a career in recruitment?

Firstly, recruitment is not an easy trade; it is involved with the human condition, and you are part of the process of (hopefully) securing someone’s dream job, so understanding human nature is very important. For example, why is the candidate looking for a new role?

My essential advice for any would-be recruiters out there is to grow your network (for example, I currently have 15k+ LinkedIn connections). Also, don’t just connect with candidates, give back to your online community: Share new articles; offer tips on recruitment etc. It’s important to keep your connections actively involved in all your LinkedIn posts.

What was the best piece of advice you were ever given?

Listen to everyone but make your own decisions in life; You will be doing it, not others!

Which professional goal would you like to achieve by the end of the year?

I want to reach the highest target possible for the upcoming quarter with my existing clients.

Finally, what’s next on your bucket list? How do you want to improve yourself?
