She’s the MG dancing queen, on a mission to make you smile and deliver the job of your dreams. Introducing Senior Recruiter Nikolina Kresoja…
How long have you worked for Manning Global and what made you choose recruitment as a career?
Six months, and actually, I feel like recruitment chose me! I was searching for a job and heard Manning Global were looking for recruiters, so I just sent them an open application and here I am!
What does your role at Manning Global mostly entail?
I recruit for our international clients. I do the initial qualification of candidates, negotiate the conditions and finally present them to our account managers.
What was your first day like in the office?
Confusing… exciting… busy, but I got a very warm reception from my colleagues, so left the office with a massive smile on my face.
What is the best thing about your job at Manning Global?
This will probably sound like a cliché, but my work colleagues. I’ve met some really great people here that I hang out with outside of the office. Also, I hear a lot of interesting stories and anecdotes talking with candidates from all over the world. Literally making friendships over the phone sometimes, I love that!
What qualities do you need to succeed at Manning Global?
You need to be positive, talkative, curious and hardworking. Oh, and eager to learn new skills!
How would you describe the culture in the Zagreb office?
Well, not that I’ve worked in many offices, but this for sure is not your typical office… in a really good way! It’s quite casual and can be quite loud. Even though we have a laugh and share funny stories you will see a bunch of hardworking people in one place. Our priority is always the job that needs to be done. Also, we are a big international group of professionals from all over the world – hence the second part of our company name!
Speaking of the Zagreb office, you recently moved to Hoto Tower, what do you like about the new office?
The view, for sure! I had the opportunity to start in our old office in Dolac, Zagreb, that definitely had its perks and had soul, but this 12th floor view really is something special!
What’s your advice to someone considering a career with Manning Global?
If you love new challenges and you are always willing to learn – reach out to us! Diversity is our middle name and we welcome new, open, positive people!
What’s your essential advice for candidates looking to find their perfect job?
Trust the recruiters! They are here to help you and place you in the most suitable position so you can really showcase your skills. And talk! If you’re interested in a new opportunity, ‘sell’ yourself to us so we can then sing your praises to our client. Don’t leave us hanging!
What was your first ever job?
Working in McDonalds for the summer – I had to earn my allowance for the holidays.
Who do you look up to most in life?
My parents and Jennifer Lopez. My folks did an amazing job providing for all our family. And JLo, c’mon, is there anything else to say?
What’s your proudest working accomplishment?
Having a placement in the first month of working here – that was really exciting! Also, the opportunity to be responsible for my team.
Speaking of the team, how did it feel to be part of Team MG at the recent Zagreb B2B run?
I had a lot of fun! Hanging out with my work colleagues away from the office was awesome!
You used to dance professionally… is this something you still do or want to do again?
Oh, that is something I want to do again. Dance is my lost love, as I love to say. Something I would recommend to everyone, it doesn’t matter if it’s recreational or professional, it is something beautiful that makes everyone happy. I’ve been competing in Latin-American and ballroom dances and there wasn’t a day I didn’t miss it since I stopped. But well, herniated disc was stronger I guess 🙁
Finally, if you could listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?
That’s a tough one! There are too many songs that I love! If I had to choose one, it would be Everyday by Bon Jovi – it always gets me pumped and ready for business!
