Whether it’s planning, developing and implementing a new and productive Talent Acquisition strategy for Manning Global or supplying quality candidates for her clients, our newest TAM Natasha Mess never tires for that perfect hire! Here’s her thoughts on quad biking, quarantines and remote recruiting during the Covid-19 pandemic, plus her top tips for achieving the perfect work/life balance!
Firstly, how are you feeling? What’s it like to be working remotely – how has your routine / work changed?
I am great thank you. Embracing the new normal! I think we all know working from home can be both a blessing and a curse. For the majority of us, working from home requires a lot of willpower and developing loads of healthy habits to stay on top of work and home life. Gone are the days of commuting to the office; in are the days where you roll out of bed and hop onto the computer, right?!
Indeed. Any advice for people working remotely?
Yes, here’s my top three tips…
Firstly, develop a morning routine: experiment and find a routine that works for your unique situation.
Secondly, the key in any role is communication and it is such an important asset when working remotely, therefore arrange 1-2-1 calls and clearly state the progress you make daily or weekly.
Last but not least, get rid of distractions, to do this create a comfortable working space, avoid social media and don’t have Netflix on in the background or in my case, ignore the dishes until after work!

How long have you worked for Manning Global?
I joined the team in July 2020.
What made you choose recruitment as a career?
I didn’t choose recruitment – it chose me! I left school with no career plans and had no idea what I wanted to do. A friend recommended that I apply for a job [my first recruitment agency role] and I loved it! I thrive in this industry. What other job allows you to be a marketeer, business development manager, problem solver and negotiator all rolled into one? I love that no two days are the same and honestly couldn’t see myself ever working in any other industry.
